The journey
Four steps, one complete picture
From a single meter number to DNO region, tariff, time bands, and TNUoS position.
Enter
Enter a meter number
Type an MPAN for an Elec supply point, or switch to Gas and enter an MPRN. One number is all you need. No billing period, no consumption figure, no configuration required.
Identify
Confirm supply point identity
The MPAN is decoded into DNO region, Distributor ID, LLFC code, profile class, market segment, tariff category, and connection voltage. Every fact is read directly from the digits, not looked up by guessing.
Gas
Gas supply points decoded too
Switch to Gas and enter the MPRN with a postcode. The tool resolves GDN, Local Distribution Zone, exit zone, and AQ band eligibility from a single lookup, with all applicable transportation charge codes listed.
Configure
Read the full configuration
SSC and TPR codes, exact Red/Amber/Green time-band hours for the meter's DNO region, and the TNUoS zone and voltage class. Enter the MIC in kVA to resolve the published TDR capacity band and the indicative daily demand residual.

The problem
Meter numbers contain information most people can't decode
Every MPAN and MPRN tells a story. Electricity MPANs encode DNO region, voltage level, and metering configuration in their 21 digits. Gas MPRNs identify the supply point but require postcode lookup to determine the GDN and LDZ. Without knowing how to decode these, the information is locked away.
Misunderstanding meter configuration can lead to incorrect tariff assumptions, wrong time band allocations, and billing disputes that should never have happened.

FAQ
Answers, before you ask
Standard Settlement Configuration is a 4-digit code that defines how a meter settles in the market. It determines the settlement registers, measurement quantity, and time pattern regime.
